Edward Bell opened the door of his Baxton store for the first time in 1890. In 1960, Keith Martin acquired the company at the age of 21, expanding its business in the mall and developing the brand's reputation as a high-quality shoe retailer. In 2003, Keith's son Edward joined the company and introduced seven years of experience from River Island and Debenhams. The father and son founded Bell's first online shoe store in 2007, all of which operated in a small room above the Buxton store. With the improvement of brand awareness and the expansion of retail business in eBay and Amazon, online business has developed rapidly. Today, Bells Shoes is headquartered in a specially built office and warehouse, employing more than 50 employees and dedicated to serving tens of thousands of customers around the world. Their stores in Buxton continue to serve the local community, with a broader family business spanning a larger area, including three Clark franchises and an independent store in Rick, Staffordshire.
